FAKE NEWS: Fact, Fiction, and (Real) Fakery

Paul Lieberman
Landings resident, award-winning writer and editor

Presented by Skidaway Abigails

Thursday, October 8
3:30 PM   Zoom meeting

Skidaway Hamiltons are invited to the Skidaway Abigails October Program.  The program will feature Landings resident, award-winning writer and editor, Paul Lieberman, who spent 40-plus years in the nerve centers of American media.  Paul will discuss the tactic of attacking the press, but also the real problems of fiction, hackery, and propaganda in reporting.  Through all the noisy rhetoric, how do we, as consumers, exercise a healthy skepticism to separate the real news from the fake?

Paul Lieberman, spent 24 years as an editor and writer for the Los Angeles Times, and prior to that served as Projects Editor of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  At the LA Times, he was part of two teams that earned Pulitzer Prizes.  He has written ethics guidelines and conducted workshops for journalists at Columbia, Harvard, the Mob Museum, and SCAD.  He is also the author of Gangster Squad, and was executive producer of the film starring Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone

This Zoom program is open to Abigails and Hamiltons members. For more information and to register click on the button below.
