About Us

The Skidaway Hamiltons was formed in 2017 by a group of non-partisan men representing a variety of educational and professional backgrounds who share similar concerns relating to public policy and social justice issues. They sponsor talented monthly speakers who address many important educational and action-oriented issues impacting our community. Past presentations, for example, focused on:

  • Savannah’s homeless population and chronic poor
  • Mass incarceration and prison reform
  • Local confederate monuments and changing racial attitudes
  • Voting preparation with Savannah’s Board of Elections
  • COVID-19 and public health issues in Chatham County
  • Mental health challenges in Chatham County
  • Policing issues with the new Chatham County Police Department
  • The Filibuster: Past, Present, and Future
  • Local news and investigative reporting
  • Major challenges facing our local courts
  • Chatham County District Attorney

Curious civic-minded men with an interest in education and action are encouraged to join our organization.
