Recap of the April, 2019 Brews and Views Meeting
A friendly group of Hamiltons met on Thursday, April 18, at Bruce Wallace’s home to discuss two recent changes in position on environmental issues by our current U.S. Congressman, Earl “Buddy” Carter.
The first is his request to the U.S. Department of Interior that Georgia’s coastal waters be excluded from oil exploration and drilling “…until the concerns of the (Georgia) legislature are addressed.”
The second is Mr. Carter’s statement that “I believe climate change is real and industrial activity is a contributing factor.”
Our discussion and knowledge of these and related issues was greatly enhanced by the participation of a fellow Hamilton who is a professional marine biologist. You just never know who you might meet, and what you might learn, at one of our casual Brews and View meetings. The pool of talent, knowledge and experience among our 100 or so members is truly remarkable.
Our April meeting was our last separate Brews and Views until next Fall. So, for next Fall, please keep in mind that a Brews and Views get-together is a great way to learn and benefit from that talent pool, and to become better acquainted with some very talented, knowledgeable and friendly people.
