“Creative Solutions for Confronting Mental Health Issues in Savannah: Intervention or Incarceration?”

Location: The Learning Center, 3025 Bull Street, Savannah

Speakers: Dr. Mark Johnson, CEO of Gateway community health board, discussing the new Chatham County behavioral health Crisis Center on East DeRenne Street that is aimed at keeping adults with mental health issues out of the jail system, and Sheryl Jones, director of the Front Porch – a program that is designed to keep kids safe and out of the court system. They will be joined by Chatham County County Sheriff John Wilcher, a strong advocate for these programs.

The Learning Center member price of $10 is available for Skidaway Abigails/WAGs and Hamiltons, and will be collected at the door.
