About Us
The Skidaway Hamiltons was formed in 2017 by a group of non-partisan men representing a variety of educational and professional backgrounds who share similar concerns relating to public policy and social justice issues. They sponsor talented monthly speakers who address many important educational and action-oriented issues impacting our community. Past presentations, for example, focused on:
- Savannah’s homeless population and chronic poor
- Mass incarceration and prison reform
- Local confederate monuments and changing racial attitudes
- Voting preparation with Savannah’s Board of Elections
- COVID-19 and public health issues in Chatham County
- Mental health challenges in Chatham County
- Policing issues with the new Chatham County Police Department
- The Filibuster: Past, Present, and Future
- Local news and investigative reporting
- Major challenges facing our local courts
- Chatham County District Attorney
Curious civic-minded men with an interest in education and action are encouraged to join our organization.
