Meridian is currently conducting Phase 3 trials for Moderna and Phase 2 trials for Pfizer and Novavax. Ms. Chanthavong will provide some history on vaccines and vaccinations, including details on several seminal events that caused distrust in some communities. She will provide an in-depth look at how trials are conducted and issues that shape their success.
Ms. Chanthavong is Director of Clinical Operations for the Neurology Division of Meridian, is research coordinator for vaccination programs, and has worked on 15 different vaccine trials in the past five years.

Bounphone “Willow” Chanthavong, MPH, CCRC, Director of Clinical Operations at Meridian’s neurology site in Savannah, Ga., was the 2019 recipient of the PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year Award. Her staff at Savannah Neurology have been chosen as 2020 finalists in the teams category of the same competition.
The finals are the third stage of a competition that welcomes the highest scoring candidates from previous questionnaire and essay challenges.
