Progressive Opportunities & Action Resources
A Directory to Local, State, National, and International Advocacy Groups That Welcome Progressive Minds!
Ronald L. Krannich, Ph.D**
As a values-driven organization of liberal/progressive men, the Hamiltons want to improve their communities and the nation. We keep up with the news, listen to guest speakers, and attend educational forums. But we know there is more to civic life than just understanding and complaining about injustices, incompetence, corruption, and public greed. Many of us want to take meaningful action by addressing these proverbial questions: “What can I do?” and “How can I be more effective?” The Hamiltons initially (2017) answered these questions by forming advocacy groups focused on environment, prison and justice reform, and economic/income inequality.
We need to do more as we move into 2021-2022. If you want to take action and make a difference, start by exploring the following directory of opportunities for progressives. Covering over 25 categories with links to 200+ progressive organizations, this directory opens a window into the fascinating world of advocacy groups that ARE making a difference. Many are nonpartisan groups that welcome your participation ($, volunteering, leadership). Organizations with an asterisk (*) after their name have a presence in and around Savannah, Georgia. Check our links to see what other like-minded progressives are doing to make a real difference in the lives of others!
At the very end of this directory, we include another important action item — a list of local elected representatives whom you may want to call, write, visit, support, or protest against.
This is the first cut at developing such as list. I welcome additional information and recommendations for growing this list of progressive action opportunities in Savannah and elsewhere (rkrannich@gmail.com or 703-298-8128).

This review article is the third in a trilogy of hyperlinked articles developed by Ron for individuals and organizations interested in progressive ideas and action. His two other related articles focus on progressive opportunities (advocacy groups) and progressive media. Both are available through these sections of the Skidaway Hamiltons’s website:
Taken together, these three important resource review articles go a long way to defining what it means to be a concerned and active liberal/progressive in today’s America.
